JOSE MORENO
Senior Manager
Transmission & Distribution, Safety & Environment
With over 20 years of experience in the field of Electric Distribution Engineering
and Operations, Mr. Moreno is a leader in Belize's Electricity Sector. He joined
Belize Electricity Limited as an Electrical Engineer in 1992 and, over the years,
has held increasingly responsible administrative positions; most notably,
Manager - Transmission and Distribution, Director - Distributon Planning,
Metering and Special Projects and currently, Senior Manager, Transmission &
Distribution, Safety & Environment Departments.
He has managed and supervised major electric distribution system projects,
spearheaded emergency system restoration works in the wake of natural
disasters and implemented multiple strategies and initiatives which significantly
reduced system losses and increased service reliability in Belize.
Mr. Moreno holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
along with numerous certifications such as Project Preparation, Appraisal and
Management, Electric Distribution Engineering and, amongst others, National
Electric Safety Code. He is a member of both the Association of Professional
Engineers of Belize (APEB) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers. (IEEE)
Mr. Moreno's focus remains on the continued deliverance of reliable electricity
service to BEL's customers by increasing operational efficiencies, reducing
costs and fostering safety and environmental stewardship.
