New Meter Connection         

A new meter connection is an electrical connection at a location that has never
been supplied with electricity before. To process the following request customers
need to visit the nearest
Customer Care office or submit a signed request.

Requirements for Residential Customers:

  1. Social Security Card
  2. Service Address (Lot Number and Street Name)
  3. Contact Number(s) and e-mail address
  4. Public Utilities Commission Electrical Installation form signed by a certified
    electrician.
  5. If new service is requested on behalf of the prospective account holder, a
    written and signed request must be presented along with a copy of social
    security card of the prospective account holder.
  6. Meter Base should be installed by a certified electrician and ready for
    inspection by BEL at the time of applying for service.

Requirements for Business:

  1. Request MUST be submitted in writing (The document MUST be on a  
    company letterhead and/or with a company stamp)
  2. Written request must be signed by business owner or his/her authorized
    designate.
  3. Service Address (lot number and street name)
  4. Contact Number(s) / Email Address(s)
  5. Meter Base should be installed by a certified electrician and ready for
    inspection by BEL at the time of applying for service.
  6. Copy of Social Security Card or passport of person signing request.
  7. GST Certificate or number (if applicable).

For connections that exceed the regular residential service with available
infrastructure, a quotation will be provided for customers to make a
Customer
Capital Contribution
(CCC) toward a line extension or a Commercial installation that
is in need of electrical infrastructure.
