BEL Updates Customers on Power Supply Advisory

Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) advises that we are currently experiencing a generation shortfall due to supply constraints affecting power imports from Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). At approximately 4:45 p.m. today, BEL was informed by CFE that it was experiencing supply issues, which remain ongoing.

These constraints are occurring at a time when several local generation sources are also operating with limited available capacity. As a result, some Customers have experienced power outages, and BEL may be required to implement additional load shedding until the situation is resolved.

BEL apologizes for the inconvenience and assures Customers that we are working closely with our suppliers to restore adequate generation capacity as quickly as possible. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
