What is ERCAP?

The Government of Belize (GoB) and Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) have been allocated grant funds from the Global Environment Facility's (GEF's) Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF) toward the cost of the Energy Resilience for Climate Adaptation Project (ERCAP). The objective of ERCAP is to demonstrate solutions that enhance the resilience of Belize's Energy sector to adverse weather and climate change impacts. In addition to the implementation of specific project activities, BEL is also responsible for the overall management of the project portfolio including all activities related to the Government of Belize.
