What is the Grievance Redress Mechanism?
In accordance with the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and associated safeguard policies, BEL's Project Management Unit has established a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) that is applicable to all ERCAP activities both for the GoB and BEL. The GRM enables BEL's Project Management Unit to better manage project risks and improve environmental and social performance, consistent with good international practices.
The GRM is a set of arrangements that enable local communities, employees or any other affected stakeholder to raise grievances with BEL via its project Management Unit and seek redress when they perceive a negative impact arising from the ERCAP activities.
